I need 25 fans to get set a username on my facebook fan page.

Posted on June 17, 2012 by Percy Kwong

Any chance some of my readership could go to this link and be my fan for this page so I can set a vanity username? It seems like a completely ridiculous environment to have people go to a completely arcane url to get fans before they can have a normal one. That’s genius at work…

Making Windows feeling like it’s a new installation

Posted on June 13, 2012 by Percy Kwong

After realizing all the people I meet that have extermely slow installations, I thought I’d write a post / article on how to make / fix your windows installation to make it work like it’s a new computer. There’s really only 3 steps to doing this. 1. Download or Buy Auslogics Boostspeed and run the…

Routing some traffic over a VPN

Posted on June 11, 2012 by Percy Kwong

Sometimes, it helps to route just some traffic over a VPN.  It doesn’t make sense to add a lot of latency to your vpn if you don’t need it.  So here’s the magic.  This only works if you have your own OpenVPN server.  (See my post on using Amazon’s free tier to make it happen)….

MailArchiva

Posted on March 12, 2011 by Percy Kwong

I decided I needed a good mail archiving solution and after looking long and hard, I found Mailarchiva. The community edition seemed promising, but after over 30 hours of troubleshooting, it’s pretty clear it doesn’t work. Sigh. Save yourself the time and look elsewhere. This is definitely not the solution.
