In my 15+ years of consulting, I’ve noticed one thing about government in general. They’re just incredibly ass-backwards in their IT. While most government entities have some good IT people, it’s usually run very poorly. I can’t seem to find one government, Federal, State, or Local that has their IT shop in order.
They rely on closed technologies and extremely expensive infrastructures that could simply run 50-80% more efficiently with some proper IT consulting at the reigns. What am I talking about? Well.. Let’s put it this way..
I know of one New York City Government agency (who shall remain nameless) that simply likes to buy equipment. They’ll buy equipment not because they need it, but because the money is left over in their budget. Rather than give it back (which is a no-no in the world of Government IT), they have to use it or lose it. So they buy tons of BIG servers and call it a day. Retarded, huh? Well.. This is where our tax dollars are going…
I am publicly issuing a challenge to any government city, state, or federal. Real simple. Hire me to look at the way things are run for $10,000.00. If I can’t save you 20% on your operating expenses, I’ll work for free. IF *however* I can save you 20% on your operations, you pay me $100,000.00 + 50% of the savings you realize over the next 3 years. ($100,000.00 payable immediately with the difference in savings payable on Dec. 1 of each consecutive year).
The Additional Terms are as specified here:
* If I can show you no savings, I will return the $10,000.00 to you minus my travel expenses.
* If you refuse to implement my suggestions, I keep the $10,000.00
* If your volume of transactions increases while my implemented ideas are in and the infrastructure handles the projected load as I have specified, I win and you pay me the difference based on a pro-rated scale.
* If I have to travel more than 50 miles, you pay my travel expenses.
Let’s talk about my qualifications…
I am an enterprise systems consultant as well as a work flow-process management consultant. In other words, I understand business, logistics, and technology. I have an insane knowledge of networks and have application architecture experience as well. I’ve been doing this for big companies and small for over 15 years.
I believe that by hiring the right resources in addition to implementing the proper technologies, I can save your entity at least 20% once the changes have been made. In most cases, this will lead to hundreds of thousands of dollars.
If any government is actually willing to take me up on this offer, contact me.
