Cyanogenmod 7 and GPS FIX on the T-Mobile G2

Posted on August 21, 2011 by Percy Kwong

Well, I was one of the people affected with broken GPS on Gingerbread. After having to back down to Froyo and suffering from the horrid interfaces compared to CM7 awesomeness, I finally decided to do lots and lots of experimentation.

What can I say except, “SUCCESS”!!!!! After weeks of googling in my spare time and trying out pretty much everything, I finally figured out the combination that worked.

It’s pretty simple… Just downgrade your radio to: Vision RADIO 12.5 0.60.24 26.08.04.16 PC10IMG.zip

Rename the file to PC10IMG.zip, put it in your root folder on the SD card and power on the device with the volume down button.

Just follow the directions to upgrade the radio and if you’re lucky, after the upgrade, reboot, install CM7 Nightly and it just all works.

I just had to share.
