The thing that kills me more than anything is the International Texting thing today. You get charged upwards of .50 to text international. So here’s the solution for all of you people out there. Skype.
Just install skype and register your cell phone number to it. (requires validation, but worth it). When you need to send text messages at that point, they will come through as coming from your cell phone.. So that solves the problem!
You can run the skype client and do your international texting that way for a fraction (literally) of the cost.
It’s a simple tip, but running the skype client on your smartphone now actually has meaning. 🙂
4G as they call it today still isn’t ready for video conferencing and latency for audio is just a nightmare, but using it as a text client is a quick and easy way to solve the problem.
I have an issue with paying .76 to text to India or the middle east or more in some cases.
I have a better solution, use viber instead of skype. Viber do it more freely… test and give result.
The problem with viber is it doesn’t send the sms as coming from your personal Cell Phone. It is an alternative solution though.
