MailArchiva

Posted on March 12, 2011 by Percy Kwong

I decided I needed a good mail archiving solution and after looking long and hard, I found Mailarchiva. The community edition seemed promising, but after over 30 hours of troubleshooting, it’s pretty clear it doesn’t work.

Sigh. Save yourself the time and look elsewhere. This is definitely not the solution.

I tried it a few years ago. It definitely wasn’t working. I did try to contact you guys and even posted on the mailing list (with no responses whatsoever). I’ve since then written my own mail archiving system which works well. It’s really more customized for me and I have no intention of bringing it to market. I know it’s been a few years and your product has evolved (I’m sure). Worked out the kinks. If you’d like me to do a follow up review, I’ll be happy to do so. As you can see from this blog, I’m somewhat technical. This blog gets an insane amount of traffic (>1300 unique visitors worldwide a day and literally increasing by the day sometimes by >100 visitors).

I don’t wish to hurt anyone as it isn’t in my nature, but after spending all that time working with that earlier version, I was extremely frustrated. Let’s talk on the phone. Send me your telephone number on via the contact form and let’s figure a way for me to do a follow-up article. I do know as a fact that when I post these days, it drives an insane amount of traffic to a website I mention. I’d love to give you guys another go. Cheers. -Percy
