Well.. It turns out Kickstarter turned down my project for helping the unemployed.

Posted on June 19, 2012 by Percy Kwong

Interestingly enough, Kickstarter turned down my project, citing the reason, “Self-Help” violates their terms and conditions for projects.  I did, however get to  startsomegood.com and got the project approved.

I just didn’t think the folks at Kickstarter would view a book about helping people cope with unemployment in the current economy would be a bad project to approve.  Apparently, they didn’t see it that way.  Well, that’s their choice ultimately.  I guess they don’t put helping the unemployed high on their list, but then again, we all have our business models and I guess helping the unemployed wasn’t in theirs.

So I’ll be posting the project on startsomegood.com tomorrow.   I will also be resuming my technical articles tomorrow as well (after I get this going).

I want to truly thank the people at  startsomegood.com for building their site as it is such an amazing idea.  Definitely check them out!

It’s sad that none of the people on the team that approves projects sees this as an important enough issue to consider.
